Barcelona’s best bits:

The streets of Barcelona are full of attractions with the eccentric architect Antonio Gaudí really leaving his stamp on this city!

Put a tour of his fascinating architecture at the top of your itinerary when in Barcelona and visit the astounding La Sagrada Família, Parc Guell, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera which are all now regarded as a World Heritage Sites.

A visit to Barcelona's Ciutat Vella including Barri Gotic is a must. Here you'll find a maze of windy cobbled streets and delightful plazas with restaurants and cafés. Take a stroll along the famous Las Ramblas and savour the atmosphere and excitement. Sport fanatics should see the superb Nou Camp Stadium while culture lovers will enjoy Barcelona's museums.

Barcelona has lots of ancient buildings to admire and explore like the Cathedral of Santa Eulalia and Placa Reial and of course don't forget to check out Barcelona's beautiful Port Vell and its golden sandy beaches!

You'll never find yourself bored while in Barcelona! Why not take the cable car to Mountjuic and explore its parks and gardens and two of the city's finest collections of art in the MNAC and Fundació Joan Miró.

You could also head up north to Tibidabo, the highest point in the city. There's a nice restaurant here called Mirablau, which overlooks the whole city!

Or for something less strenuous why not enjoy a day out at the Parc de la Ciutadella which is dotted with attractions and makes a welcome escape from the busy city centre.

If you hire a car you can enjoy some fantastic day trips from Barcelona. Take a drive south along the Costa Dorado and visit the stunning seaside resort of Sitges, head north to the ancient city of Girona, or travel along the beautiful Costa Brava to the French Border and discover little secluded seaside towns untouched by tourism.

Other top attractions to be found in Barcelona include; Museu Picasso, the Arc de Triomf, the Museu de historia de la ciutat and the Aquarium is a great hit with all the family.
