You could also head up north to Tibidabo, the highest point in the city. There's a nice restaurant here called Mirablau, which overlooks the whole city!
Or for something less strenuous why not enjoy a day out at the Parc de la Ciutadella which is dotted with attractions and makes a welcome escape from the busy city centre.
Boat trips of the harbour leave from the Columbus Monument at the end of Las Ramblas, or if you're short on time, a bus tour of the city on Barcelona's Bus Turístic is highly recommended. (Read our Blog article for more on Bus Turístic)
If you hire a car you can enjoy some fantastic day trips from Barcelona. Take a drive south along the Costa Dorado and visit the stunning seaside resort of Sitges, head north to the ancient city of Girona, or travel along the beautiful Costa Brava to the French Border and discover little secluded seaside towns untouched by tourism.
Other top attractions to be found in Barcelona include; Museu Picasso, the Arc de Triomf, the Museu de historia de la ciutat and the Aquarium is a great hit with all the family.
