The Fundacio Joan Miro is a well known museum in Barcelona where tourists flock to get a glance at the fantastic collection of modern art by the famous artist herself.

The collection on display in the museum is in honor of Joan Miro and even the building itself features modern styles like its courtyards and curved skylights. The museum is located on the north side of Montjuic in Barcelona and was opened in 1988.

Many of Joan Miro’s collections on display vary from paintings, drawings, sculptures and textiles. There is a bar and restaurant located in the museum which can seat a total of 170 inside and outside. It provides many rooms for those who wish to hold private functions. You’ll also find a library holding about 25,000 books, catalogues and many more.

Not all of Joan Miro’s masterpieces are housed in the the Fundacio Joan Miro. Some of his works can be found in Barcelona Airport, La Casa de la Ciutat, the Hospital de La Creu Roja in Tarragona and also in a studio in Mallorca
