If you are interested in the history of Barcelona, then the Museu d’historia de la ciutat is the place for you.
This place takes you right back to the Roman times of the city and reveals the story of the city up until the present day. The Museu d’historia de la ciutat is actually comprised of three different buildings; the Centre for Interpretation to Park Guell, the Monumental Ensemble of the Placa del Rei and the Museum-Monastery of Pedralbes.
Most of the objects within the museum are sourced from archaeological excavations. You’ll find anything from historical paintings, furniture, sculptures, bowls, coins, pottery, drawings showing the development of the city, gold and silver objects, carvings and many more.
There are tours provided and the museum provides sections for conferences, guided tours, an array of activities for children and workshops.
